John E. "Jack" Sutton, 72, of Granville, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark. He was born September 3, 1938 to the late John Earl and Sylvia Edris (Lamson) Sutton.
A retired Lab Technician with Owens Corning, Jack received his Associate Degree from COTC and later earned his B.A. as a Registered Nurse from St. Joseph College in Maine. He was a 1956 Granville High School graduate and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Navy Corpsman. Jack was a retired Granville Township Fire Department volunteer and was an avid golfer. He was a member of the Retired League at St. Albyn's Golf Club.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Sally D. (Rausch) Sutton of Granville; daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela Sutton-Charron and Mark Charron of Newark, and Colleen and Brian Wright of Newark; son, Todd Sutton of Buckeye Lake; grandchildren, Tyler and Sydney Charron, Zachary Wright, and Emily Wright-Morgan all of Newark; and brother, David Sutton of Columbus.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Richard Sutton.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, May 3, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the McPEEK-HOEKSTRA FUNERAL HOME, 133 S. Prospect St., Granville. In honor of Jack's wishes, there will be no memorial service. Online condolences may be expressed at www.mcpeekhoekstra.com.
