John F. West

A memorial service celebrating the life of John F. West, 66, of Newark, will be held at 11:00 A.M. August 20, 2022 at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 285 W. National Drive, Newark, Ohio 43055 with Rev. Mark Katrick as celebrant.  The family will receive friends one hour prior the service at the church from 10 to 11:00 am.  Private burial will be held.

John was called to new life on August 3, 2022 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus after a brief illness. He was born in Newark to the late John F. and Mary West.

John enjoyed a life-time of trucking which included over-the-road and instructing driver training. He was a kind and patient man that was always teaching others. His welcoming and easy going personality made him a joy to be around. John liked fishing, golfing, and bowling, but his true love was the Lord and his family. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, ability to connect with nature’s creatures, and as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Surviving are his high school sweetheart and wife, Machele West; stepchildren and their spouses, Ken (Shaina), Eric (Melissa), Heather (Joe), Amy (John), and Lori (Doug); brother, David West; and 17 grandchildren.
