Judith B. Feid

Judith B. Feid, 81, of Granville, passed away Friday, November 23, 2012 at her home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. Judy, a devoted wife and beloved mother, was born August 22, 1931 in St. Louis, MO to the late Myrtle (Williams) and Fred Berthold.

A 1953 graduate of Denison University, Judy was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and served on the Board of Directors. She was also a member of St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church and active in P.E.O., Chapter EZ where she worked with the scholarship committee. Judy volunteered at Licking Memorial Hospital and enjoyed reading and tutoring elementary children in Granville, Alexandria, and Newark schools for numerous years. Her fondest memories were the summers spent on the Jersey shore with her family.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen B. and Helen Feid of Bedford Hills, NY; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen F. and Charles Sturgis of Park City, Utah, and Janet F. and John Gordon of Granville; grandchildren, Charles, Harriet, and William Feid, Leah Sturgis, Katie (Gordon) Field and her husband, Tyler, and Shannon Gordon; and brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Laura Belle Berthold of Hanover, New Hampsire.

In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Jack T. Feid, Jr., whom she married June 8, 1953; and two sisters, Jean Coggeshall and Mary Morrison.

The family will receive friends Monday, November 26, 2012 from 11 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the McPEEK-HOEKSTRA FUNERAL HOME, 133 S. Prospect St., Granville. A private funeral service will be held at a later time. Online condolences may be expressed at www.mcpeekhoekstra.com.
