Judith A. Peterson

September 6, 1960 — September 4, 2013

A memorial service celebrating the life of Judith Tomcho Peterson, 52, of Granville will be held Sunday, September 29, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 110 W. Broadway, Granville with the Rev. Karen Chakoian officiating.

Judy died on September 4, 2013, surrounded by her family, following a month long illness. She was born September 6, 1960 to the late George S. and Joyce Cox Tomcho, and was a life-long resident of Granville.

A free spirit, Judy was hard-working, spontaneous and fun-loving. She was always quick to lend a sympathetic ear and was a confidante to many. Judy was an avid horse-woman who enjoyed caring for her horses and trail riding with her daughter, Krystina and all of her equestrian friends. A lover of all animals, she often worked with various rescue groups, fostering many animals through the years until they could find their perfect forever homes. Judy adored the ocean, reading, and cuddling up with her precious dogs and cats.

Judy was a 1979 graduate of Granville High School where she excelled in her studies and was a member of the National Honor Society. She graduated from Ohio State University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, which she utilized at Family Counseling Services in Newark, Ohio and later at the Licking County Department of Job and Family Services.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Krystina and J.W. Duhl; and the light of her life, granddaughter, Gabriella (Bree); her sisters and brothers-in-law, Nancie and Michael Snyder and Suzi and Joseph Lebovitz; nieces, Kaitlyn and Abby Lebovitz and Julia Snyder; and nephew, Evan Snyder. Judy is also survived by her cousins, Christine Muller Krause and William Muller.
