A Taize service for Julia Ramey "Judy" Farris, 74 of Granville, will be held Friday, May 1, 2015 at 7:00 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church, 110 W. Broadway, in Granville.
Judy died Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Kendal at Granville after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 24, 1941 in Columbus, OH to the late Ralph Emerson Ramey, M.D. and Lucy D. Ramey McNeill.
Judy was a 1959 graduate of Gahanna High School. An active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Granville, Judy was a former Elder and Deacon, served as a Stephen Minister, member of the Parish Care Committee, and was a founding member of the Caring for Creation Committee. She was always involved in charity projects, with the church or on her own, trying to help others the best way she could. Judy was an environmentalist, who loved nature and life in all its forms. Farming was her labor of love until she retired.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Edward L. Farris, III, and Otilia, of Granville; step-daughter, Sharon Bingaman Williamson and her husband, Melvin, of Delaware, OH; brother, David Edward Ramey and his wife, Mardel, of Reynoldsburg; and niece and nephew, Michelle and Steve.
