Julian Cujas

Julian David "J.D." Cujas went to be with the Lord on November 28, 2010. He was born in Burgettstown, PA to the late Oliver and Julia Cujas on August 8, 1928.

J.D. graduated from Union High School in Burgettstown, and relocated to Newark when he went to work as a lineman for Ohio Power. In 1990 he retired from Owens Corning Tech Center.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Granville, Lancaster Eagles, and was Past Exalted Ruler of Elks Lodge #391. An avid golfer for many years, he was also a member of Willow Run Golf Course.

Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Lois (James) Cujas; daughter, Diane Neighbarger of Newark; son, David (Wendy) Cujas of Bonita Springs, FL; step-children, Judy (John) Kempton of Lancaster, Jim (Ann) Jenkins of Granville, Joyce (Ed) Shanahorn of Westerville, and Joni (Joe) Campbell of Lancaster; grandchildren, Ashley (Zack) Markley and Christine Neighbarger; step-grandchildren, Greg, Matt, Mark, and Zach Goddard, Jeff (Angela) Kempton, Dr. James (Jennifer) Kempton, Jody (Mark) Taylor, Jaclyn (Camden) Collins, Jay Jenkins, Angela (David) Szabo, Joe (Brooke) Campbell, Michaela (Dmitri) Maglalang, and Chris Campbell; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Homenick and Julia Foglio of California; sisters-in-law, Ruth Burgoon and Betty (Kenneth) Camp; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, J.D. was preceded in death by his brothers, Herman and Oliver; and sister, Hazel Ciatto.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 3, 2010 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville followed by a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 110 W. Broadway, Granville with the Rev. Karen J. Chakoian and Rev. Thom Lamb as celebrants.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at McPEEK-HOEKSTRA FUNERAL HOME in Granville where an Elks service will be held at 5:30 p.m.. To ensure family acknowledgment of guestbook entries, please express all online condolences at www.mcpeekhoekstra.com.
