A celebration of life be held at a later date for Kathleen A. Thornton, 62, of Newark. Kathy died May 7, 2017 at Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, Florida. She was born in Newark to the late James V. and Jean (Healy) Thornton.
A graduate of Newark Catholic High School and Central Ohio Technical College, Kathy was a registered nurse previously employed by Licking Memorial Hospital, Autumn Health Care, Licking County Aging Program and most recently as a private nurse. She enjoyed community theater with the Licking County Players and her annual trips to Anna Maria Island Florida with her “Twisted Sisters”.
Surviving are her special friend, David L. Shumway; sister-in-law, Kelly Thornton; niece and nephews, Sarah Seymour, Stephen Zaborski, Ryan (wife Alli) and Andrew Thornton.
In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by one brother, Stephen J. Thornton.
