Kenneth "Mickey" Hankinson

Kenneth Michael “Mickey” Hankinson, age 91 of Alexandria, Ohio passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024.   He was born October 8, 1932, in Newark, Ohio to the late Kenneth D. and Margaret V. (Sands) Hankinson.

Mickey was raised in Welsh Hills and was a 1951 graduate of Granville High School. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout as well as being on the 1950 All Licking County Football Team.

He worked for 20 years at North American Aviation in Columbus, Ohio and retired from Owens Corning Technical Center, Granville, Ohio, with 25 years of service.

Mickey was a member of the Alexandria Baptist Church and served as Assistant Scoutmaster for Alexandria Boy Scout Troop 24.  He also served as President of the Northridge Athletic Boosters.  Mickey was a member of Center Star Lodge #11 of Granville and Aerospace Lodge #800 of Heath for over 60 years.

He enjoyed woodworking and home projects in his retirement.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, John R. Hankinson.

Mickey is survived by his wife of 72 years, Mary Lou (King) Hankinson whom he married on September 16, 1951, at the First Baptist Church of Granville; sons Scott William (Pam) Hankinson of Alexandria, Ohio and Larry Weston (Cheryl) Hankinson of Glouster, Ohio; grandchildren Jamie Hankinson, Brian Hankinson, Mike Hankinson, Matthew (Katie) Hankinson and Emily Hankinson, step grandchildren Anthony Collura and Brian (Kim) Collura.

Visitation will be held 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at McPeek Hoekstra Hoskinson Funeral Home, 133 Prospect Street, Granville, Ohio 43023 where funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2024. Burial at Welsh Hills Cemetery.
