Kenneth "Ken" Edward Nihiser

Kenneth “Ken” Edward Nihiser, age 90, formerly of Granville, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023, at The Inn at Chapel Grove in Heath.  He was born July 12, 1933, in Sugar Grove, Ohio to the late Marion Edward and Thelma Rose (Snyder) Nihiser.

Ken was a 1955 graduate of Ohio Northern University with a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy.  He was a 70-year member of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity.

He began his career at Lancaster’s Beiter and Flege Drug Store then Foster’s Pharmacy in Mt. Vernon and Larry’s in Newark before retiring from Big Bear in 1995.

Ken served in the U.S. Army Med. Corps from 1956-1958.  He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, Mt. Zion #9 Lodge, York Rite, Scottish Rite in Mt. Vernon, Aerospace #800 in Heath.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Waugh of Lancaster.

Ken is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sandra L. (Eberman) Nihiser whom he married February 25, 1956; son and daughter-in-law, David and Mary (Romero) Nihiser of Guilford, Indiana; 1 niece and 1 nephew.

Graveside services will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery at a later date.
