A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Lenna M. Leo, 82, of Johnstown, at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, Nov. 12, 2021 at the Church of the Ascension, 555 S. Main St., Johnstown, OH with Rev. Mark Ghiloni as celebrant. A private graveside service will be held at St. Mary’s Assumption Cemetery in Glenshaw, Pennsylvania.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 4 to 6 P.M. at the Church of the Ascension.
A retired facilitator for special needs children in the Westerville City Schools, Lenna passed away Monday, Nov. 8, 2021 at Mt. Carmel East in Columbus. She was born in Modesto, California to the late Robert and Audra Shields.
A certified rosary maker, Lenna enjoyed many hands-on activities such as quilting and arts and crafts. She volunteered a great deal of her time and talents in the church and was an excellent cook, most notably for her desserts. She was a member of the “Bunko Club” and love playing Bingo and other various board games. Lenna will be remembered for her love of family, care and concern of others, and her ability to have fun.
Surviving are her children, Rory (Francene) Leo, Denise Simeone, Scott (April) Leo, and Valerie and Bruce Bierl; grandchildren, Samantha, Louie, Tina (Pete), Dominic, Valerie, Justin, Makayla, and Milton; six great grandchildren; brother, Jaycee Shields; and sister, Glenda (Ray) Mitchell.
In addition to her parents, Lenna is preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, Herman Leo, who died July 3, 2018; son-in-law, Louis Simeone; daughter-in-law, Michelle Leo; and sister, Bonnie Amann.
