Leola "Lee" M. Sheffler

Leola “Lee” M. Sheffler, 96, of Granville, passed away October 9, 2022, at her home surrounded by family. She was born in Washington, Pennsylvania to the late Ted and Ruth Strott.

A 1944 graduate of Washington High School, Lee earned her degree in nursing from Allegheny General Hospital School of Nursing in 1947. She did post graduate work at University Hospital in Cleveland and Case Western Reserve. She worked as a nurse for Denison University at Whistler Hospital for 13 years and Granville Schools where she retired in 1990 after 20 years of caring for students.

Lee was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Monday Talks, Granville Garden Club, Newark Maennerchor, and she volunteered with TWIG #5 and the American Red Cross. She enjoyed playing bridge, knitting, antiquing, and a daily glass of merlot. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother.

Surviving are her children and their spouses, Jeffrey (Barbara) Sheffler, Vicki (Jeff) Lammers, Ann (Rich) Cherry, and Brigitte (Joe Goodburn) Sheffler; seven grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Lee was preceded in death by four brothers.
