Leon S. Marshall Jr., 80, of Bonita Springs, Florida, formerly of Granville, Ohio, died Monday, September 21, 2015, at “Joanne’s House” of Hope Hospice surrounded by his loving wife of 59 years, Jeanne, and his loving daughters, Diane Marshall of Glenview, IL, Paula Marshall of Auburn, WV, and Karen Rittenhouse of Shelby, OH.
Leon (“Lee” – “Junnie”) was born May 6, 1935 in Townsend, MA, son of Ruth (Morse) and Leon S. Marshall, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Kenneth L. Marshall, his infant granddaughter Emily Rachel Rittenhouse, his mother and father-in-laws Rod and Medora Ricard, brothers Erving and George Marshall, and sisters Nancy Morse and Priscilla Blood.
Lee was a highly respected executive in the paper industry at Fitchburg Paper Co., Fitchburg, MA and retired as Vice President of Marketing and Sales of CBC, Division of Riverside Paper Corp., Appleton, WI.
Lee was an outstanding athlete at Townsend High School and Nichols College in Dudley, MA, Class of 1955, where he was inducted into the Nichols College Hall of Fame in 1985. Lee is deeply missed by his wife Jeanne, his daughters Diane, Paula and Dr. Mara Daidone, Karen and Keith Rittenhouse, his grandson “Joey”, Joseph Michael Rittenhouse, his sisters, Barbara Peterson and Elaine Marshall of Massachusetts, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held October 10, 2015 from 12:00pm to 2:00 P.M. at McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect St., Granville, OH, 43023, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 P.M. officiated by Father Michael Gribble. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville.
