Lewis Henry Poe Ii

Lewis Henry Poe II passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Licking Memorial Hospital. Born on December 19th, 1939, in Kokomo, Indiana to the late Lewis and Dorothy (nee Nielander) Poe.

Lewis grew up in Kokomo and graduated from Purdue University.  He worked across the country and around the world in his career as an electrical engineer, including lengthy tours in Kosovo, Palestine, and Afghanistan.  He ran an engineering consulting firm in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he raised his children, Trey and Michelle. They have shared his love of the outdoors and culture. Lewis moved to Ohio in 1998. In 2007 he married Sarah Paisley Larson and relocated to Granville.

Lewis was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Rita Harker.  Lewis is survived by his wife Sarah, daughter Michelle Van Sant (David Duck) and son Trey Poe (Terri); grandchildren Spencer Van Sant (Amanda), Heather Dirle (Tim), Kristin Roach, Linnea and Callie Poe, as well as great grandchildren Riley, Landon and Samuel Van Sant.

Lewis loved to talk with family, friends and strangers wherever he went and remained curious about people and the world all his life.  A celebration of his life will be held in New Mexico at a later date.
