Lois Ann (James) (Jenkins) Cujas, age 93, went home to be with the Lord on July 13, 2022.  She was born in Granville, Ohio to the late O. Frank and Mabel E. James.

A 1945 Union High School graduate, Lois continued her education attending Newark Hospital School of Nursing until she married in 1947.  After which, she was a dedicated homemaker and part-time bookkeeper for the office of Dr. Wells in Newark.  Later in life, she worked for the Licking County Clerk of Courts and retired as Chief Deputy - Auto Title Division in 1990.

Lois was an active, life-long, member of the First Presbyterian Church in Granville, Elks Auxiliary, and Willow Run Golf Club League for over 30 years. In addition to golfing, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, watching OSU Buckeye games, and piloting single engine planes, even though she got lost on her first cross-country flight.

Surviving are her children, Judy (John) Kempton of Lancaster, Jim (Ann) Jenkins of Granville, Joyce (Ed) Shanahorn of Westerville, and Joni (Joe) Campbell of Lancaster; Grandchildren; Jeff (Angela) Kempton, Dr. James (Dr. Jennifer Myer) Kempton, Jody Jenkins, Angela (David) Szabo, Jaclyn (Camden) Collins, Jay Jenkins; step-grandchildren; Joey (Brooke) Campbell, Michaela (Dmitri) Maglalang, Chris (Lisa) Campbell; 15 great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Ken Camp of Newark.

In addition to her parents, Lois is preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, J.D. Cujas; brother, Richard James, sisters, Mary Margaret Nash, Ruth Burgoon, Betty Camp, and great grandchild, Addison Kempton.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 P.M. on Friday, July 29, 2022 (Masks requested) at McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect St., Granville. Online condolences may be expressed at www.mcpeekhoekstra.com.

A private family graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville.

A memorial service will be held, Saturday, July 30, at 11:00 at First Presbyterian Church, 110 W. Broadway, Granville, OH 43023, with a reception to follow immediately after service.
