Louis E. Francis

A Celebration of Life gathering for Louis E. Francis, 82, of Maryville, TN., formerly Granville, will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010 at McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect St., Granville, with Rev. Dr. Dennis J. Baker officiating.  Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville.

Mr. Francis died Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Asbury Place in Maryville, TN.  He was born April 29, 1927 in Columbus, OH to the late Louis and Margaret (Warnock) Francis.

Louis, a Navy veteran, retired from Newark Air Force Base after 24 years of service.  He was a past member of the Kiwanis Club of Granville.

Surviving are his wife, Dora R. Francis of Maryville, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Lynn Francis of Alliance; daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Mike Anders of Hebron; grandchildren and their spouses, Emily Francis, Michelle Athey and her fiancAC., Adam Wenrick, Megan and Mark Welch, Eric Francis, and Stephen Francis; one great grandson, Ace Wenrick; step-sons and spouse,  Andrew Strickland of Knoxville, TN, and Edward and Judy Strickland of Douglasville, GA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice M. (Baker) Francis, who died September 29, 1991.
