Margaret Bear Eakin

Margaret Bear Eakin, a retired house manager for Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority at Denison University, died Saturday, April 05, 2014 at her home at the age of 95. She was born in Weldon, IL on Nov. 17, 1918 to the late Lloyd and Bonnie (Miller) Bear.
Surviving are her sons, Lloyd Eakin and wife, Shiela, of San Fransciso, CA, Scott Eakin and wife, Anna, of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Marla Crouch and husband, Tim, of Delaware; foreign exchange student who was like an adopted member of the family, Preben Skott of Coppenhagen, Denmark; and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Marlin Eakin, who died June 25, 1965; sister, Phyllis B. Sylvester; and brother-in-law, Dr. Robert Sylvester.
Family will receive friends from 1 to 3 P.M. on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at the McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect St., in Granville. A private burial will be held at Graceland Cemetery in Decatur, Illinois.
