A memorial service for Marilyn M. Kasson, 60, of Granville, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Centenary United Methodist Church, 102 E. Broadway, Granville with the Rev. Stephen J. Cramer officiating. Private inurnment will be held at Fredonia Cemetery.
Marilyn died Tuesday, January 6, 2009, as the result of an automobile accident in Granville. She was born September 8, 1948, in Dayton, to the late John W. and Sarah Jane Oliver Moore.
A registered nurse, Marilyn was employed at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus as Director of In House Physician Services. She began her career as a nurse's aide at Licking Memorial Hospital and was ultimately promoted to vice-president. While at LMH, she developed the Company Care Program. Marilyn completed her nursing degree at Central Ohio Technical College where she graduated first in her class. Her passion for learning lead her to complete her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Franklin University and her M.B.A. from Ohio University while managing a family and career. She was later recognized by Central Ohio Technical College with the Achievement Award for Outstanding Alumni.
Marilyn was an amazing grandma, and a super mom and wife. Although she was a career person, she was also an excellent cook and pies were her specialty. She enjoyed reading, playing the piano, fishing, boating and wakeboarding. She will fondly be remembered for her good attitude and her love of helping others. She was an organizer and consummate planner. One of the family's best memories was their trip through Scotland and England.
Surviving are her husband, Ronald A. Kasson; son, David Kasson of Albany, NY; daughter and son-in-law, Kate and Tim Cremean of Gahanna; grandson, David Hap Cremean; brothers and sister-in-law, Douglas and Sandra Moore of Waverly and Bradford "Jack" Moore of Seattle, WA; mother-in-law, Helen Kasson of Granville; two brothers-in-law and their wives, Thomas Jeffrey and Christine Kasson, and Phillip L. and Nita Kasson; and several nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and one brother-in-law.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice. In addition, the Granville High School Class of 1966 have established the Marilyn Moore Kasson Memorial Account, a nursing scholarship to be awarded to a qualifying 2009 GHS senior. Contributions may be made at any Park National Bank.
