A memorial service celebrating the life of Mark B. Evans, 86, of Granville, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 9, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church, 110 W. Broadway, Granville with the Reverend Karen Chakoian as celebrant. The family will receive friends in Heritage Hall, at the church, following the service.
Mark passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018 at his home surrounded by family. He was born in Marion OH to the late T.R. and Grace Evans.
An Army veteran, Mark graduated from Lakewood, OH High School, and The Ohio State University , was a Lifelong Sigma Chi and passionate Buckeye fan. He had served as deacon in the First Presbyterian Church in Granville OH and Delray Beach FL
Mark enjoyed a prolific 26-year career with IBM (and IBM Europe) as Manager of Marketing Strategy, moving with his family from Cleveland, Chicago, White Plains NY, Boca Raton FL and Paris France. In Paris he belonged to the American Church of Paris, The American Club, and did volunteer work for The American Embassy, Commercial Affairs.
He was enthusiastic about music and golf; was a voracious reader and world traveler. Mark will be remembered for his wit, humor, integrity, and love of family.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Barbara Schroer Evans, children and their spouses, Steve (Candy), Suzanne (Mark Darling), Tom (Karla) and Sharon (Karl Schuler); grandchildren, Christopher, Katy, Tim, Dylan, Alexa, Melissa, Lauren, Jennifer, and Kelsey; great granddaughter, Lilly; and brother, David Evans and wife Carol Evans.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Granville.
