A memorial service celebrating the life of Mark P. Overman, 76, of Granville, will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 110 West Broadway Street, Granville, with Rev. Liz Tietz officiating.
Mark was born in Union City, Indiana on October 6, 1946 to the late Edward Orton and Marjorie Jean (Mills) Overman. He passed away on July 21, 2023 at Mt. Carmel St. Ann’s in Westerville.
Mark proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, where he was a recipient of a Purple Heart. Prior to retirement, he was a commercial electrician for many years. He enjoyed walking, traveling (to all 50 states), going to the casinos in Las Vegas, was a cat lover and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. Mark could build or repair anything and would help out his neighbors and friends quite often.
Survivors include his sisters, Nancy (Glen) Strezze and Diane Overman; nieces and nephews, Andrew (Janet) Overman, Michael (Rebekah) Overman, Amy (Darren) Huckaby, Renee (Kenneth) Strezze Clark, Brian (Anthea) Strezze, Allison (Markus) Kretschmer and Sara (Tyler) Downer; and many cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Overman.

A private burial service will be held at Poplar Forks Cemetery in Gratiot.
