Mary Jane Dennison

A memorial service celebrating the life of Mary Jane Dennison, 74, of Granville, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 14, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church, 110 W. Broadway, Granville with Rev. Janice Hilkerbaumer officiating. A private graveside service will be held at Loudonville Cemetery.

Mary Jane died Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born May 12, 1940 in Loudonville, Ohio to the late Durbin Julius and Treva Jane (Stewart) Dix.

Retiring from Denison University in 2002, after 35 years of dedicated service as departmental secretary in History and Classics, Mary Jane was an independent and very hard-working individual. She was a creative person yet she enjoyed the simple things in life such as gardening, walking her dog for miles, being a homemaker, and most importantly, spending time with her cherished family. Mary Jane was strong in her faith and was an inspiration to many as she conquered many hurdles in life.

Surviving are her children and their spouses, Joe and Lisa Dennison of Newark, OH, Jackie and Mike Schulz of Winterville, NC, and Jill and Jeff O'Donnell of Newark, OH; very special grandchildren, Ben and wife, Randi Lyn, Cody, Zack, Hunter, Lexie, and Ellie; step-grandson, Sean O'Donnell; great grandchildren, Amberigh, Laityn, and Baylor; brothers and sister-in-law, Stewart and Karen Dix and D.J. Dix; former mother and father-in-law, Edna and Joe Dennison, Sr.; and nieces and nephews.
