Mary Ann Johnson

A private graveside service for Mary Ann Johnson, 89, of Granville, will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in Cleveland.

Mary Ann died Saturday, December 11, 2010 at the Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Newark. She was born June 24, 1921 in Cleveland to the late Mollie (Messenger) and Charles Churchill, Sr.

A 1939 West High School graduate in Cleveland, Mary Ann was the owner/operator of the first coined laundromat in Cleveland that eventually expanded into a dry cleaning business. Her greatest recreation was bowling as she traveled the country extensively with a 178 average. Shortly after moving to Granville in 1976, Mary Ann became hostess for the Granville Welcome Wagon lasting 18 years.

Mary Ann was past member of the West Boulevard Christian Church in Cleveland and Parma Country Club. She was also an honorary member of the Granville Sertoma Club.

Surviving is her husband of 68 years, John "Fred" Johnson of Granville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Churchill, Jr.
