Mary Lou Koerner, 92, of Fort Myers, FL, and formerly of Granville, OH, passed away peacefully at Shell Point Village on July 1st, 2008. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY on September 13, 1915 to the late Wayland C. and Mary Ruth (Sharer) Marlow.
Mrs. Koerner was a 1937 graduate of Denison University where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She acted as Past President of Granville Merchants Association, as well as serving on the Granville Village Council for two years, and was later a member of Sanibel Community Church where she was a Stephen Minister, Order of St. Luke the Physician.
Surviving are her two sons and daughter-in-law, Norman H. Koerner of Dallas, TX and Kenneth M. and Nancy R. Koerner of Naples, FL; brother-in-law, Paul Koerner of Sidney, OH; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Norman Harvey Koerner, who died October 25, 2001 and one brother, Wayland C. Marlow, Jr.
The memorial service will be held at Sanibel Community Church in Florida on Saturday, August 23rd at 11:00 a.m.
In Granville, the family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20th, 2008 at McPeek Funeral Home, followed by graveside service at Maple Grove Cemetery with Pastor Barry Clingan officiating. Visit
