A Mass of Christian Burial for MaryAnn Reeb, 69, of Granville, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, September 26, 2014 at The Church of St. Edward the Confessor, 785 Newark Granville Rd., Granville with Msgr. Paul P. Enke as celebrant. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville. MaryAnn passed away Monday, September 22, 2014 at her home, surrounded by family. She was born in Rahway, New Jersey May 12, 1945 to the late Allan and Helen (Leonard) Van Liew.

An early childhood educator for more than 40 years, MaryAnn graduated from Miami University majoring in Education and French and later earned her Master's Degree in Education from Xavier University, and trained with Association Montessori Internationale. Her love of children and passion for education lead her to found the Children's House, a Montessori school in 1975. She was also instrumental in the development of Welsh Hills School.

A very principled and determined woman, MaryAnn was a true leader. She was a loyal friend to many and matriarch to both her family and extended families of Welsh Hills School and Spring Valley Pool. She will be warmly remembered by many for her positive influence and genuine care.

A devout member of The Church of St. Edward the Confessor, MaryAnn faithfully participated in her church community. She was also a member of the American Montessori Society, the Ohio Association of Independent Schools, and the Independent Schools Association of the Central States, where she served on the Teacher Services Committee

She enjoyed aquatics, traveling, and music, especially camp fire sing-a-longs with family. Surviving are her children and their spouses, Jennifer and Stephen Biehn, Carrie and Matthew Lonzo, Nicholas and Vanessa Reeb, Sarah Reeb, and Rebecca Reeb; grandchildren, Jeremiah, Cassidy, Asher, Ophelia, Simon, and soon to be announced arrival; brothers, Mike and Bill Van Liew; sisters, Jean (Gary) Foster, Pat (Chuck) Huth, Carol (Tom) Braford, Nancy Omey and Kathy (Larry) Roberts; brothers-in-law, Tom Campbell and John (Anne) Reeb; sister-in-law Nancy Reeb; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, MaryAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin R. "Ned" Reeb, who died December 18, 1993; brothers, Robert and Joe Van Liew; and sisters, Susan Campbell and Sally Van Liew.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 4 to 7 P.M. at the CHURCH, where a Vigil Service will begin at 4:00 P.M.
