Matthew Paul Simpson

A funeral service celebrating the life of Matthew Paul Simpson, 45, of Hilliard will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Centenary United Methodist Church, 102 E. Broadway, Granville with the Rev. Stephen J. Cramer officiating. Private burial will follow at Welsh Hills Cemetery in Granville.

A senior systems business analyst for Ohio Health, Matt died unexpectedly September 9, 2010 at Doctors West Hospital in Columbus. He was born in Granville, Ohio November 16, 1964 to Paul "Pete" K. Simpson and Sally (Mallow) Simpson.

Matt was a 1984 graduate of Granville High School and furthered his education earning a B.A. in Sociology from The Ohio State University and later graduated from DeVry University with a B.S. in Information Technology.

An avid soccer enthusiast, Matt played throughout high school and was selected for the All Star Soccer Team, was a walk on at O.S.U., and coached his daughter's teams at the Hilliard Ohio Soccer Association. A prankster, perfectionist, and Buckeye fan, Matt enjoyed traveling and spending time at the beach with his family. He will be remembered as a loving husband, and father.

Surviving are his, wife Julie (Boring) Simpson whom he married May 18, 1996; daughters, Haley and Gabrielle Simpson; mother and step father, Sally and Bill Johnson of Granville; brother and sister-in-law, Paul Robert "Doby" and Dianna Simpson of Lake Forest, IL; sisters and brothers-in-law, Paula Kay and Michael Workman of Granville and Dianne and William Snelling of Heath; father and mother-in-law, James and Joanne Boggs Boring of Crooksville and several nieces and nephews.

Matt was preceded in death by his father who died August 6, 1996.
