A funeral service celebrating the life of Patricia J. Joerg, 88, of Granville, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at the McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect Street, Granville with Rev. Dr. John C. Minihan officiating. Calling hours will be 1 hour prior the service from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville.
Patricia, a retiree from Ownes-Corning Technical Center, died Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark. She was born March 6, 1923 in Toledo to the late Robert J. and Sarah L. (Amstutz) Lindsay Mahoney.
Patricia graduated from Jesup M.Scott High School in Toledo in 1941 and attended Toledo Business College. In 1943, she married Oliver L. Joerg and later moved to Newark in 1959. Patricia was a member of the Hebron Happy Hatters, Heart of Ohio Quilters Guild, Women's Association Quilters of the First Presbyterian Church, and a 50-year member of the First Presbyterian Church in Newark. Patricia enjoyed her many travels with Freedom Years and for over 10 years, enjoyed the winter months spent in Winter Haven, Florida.
Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and David Wills; daughter-in-law, Donna Joerg of NY; four grandchildren, Tricia and Corey Wills, and Jeboah and Hannah Joerg; and brother, Larry Lindsay of Swanton, Ohio. She also leaves behind her devoted caregivers, Selena Thrasher and Nancy Freas, along with her beloved cat, "Kenzie".
In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie; son, Russell L. Joerg; and sister-in-law, Charlotte Kramer of Bradenton, Florida.
