Patricia Ann Stout

Patricia Ann (Shawen) Stout passed away peacefully in her home in Granville, Ohio on February 2, 2022. Ann was born on June 24, 1939 in Toledo, Ohio. She is the daughter of Paul Shawen and Esther (Beck) Shawen. Ann grew up in Perrysburg, Ohio, and went to Ohio State University where she met the love of her life, Emeritus Denison Professor, Dr. Elliott Stout. Ann was the world's best wife, mother and teacher. She taught at Columbus North High School and Granville High School; she loved teaching and her students. Ann traveled the world and made friends everywhere.

Ann leaves behind her daughter, Amy Stout, Amy's partner, Marie Wing-Maher, and their four children, Martin, Ciaran, Brendan and Sean. Ann also leaves behind two honorary grandchildren, Ellie and Liam. Two months before she passed away, Ann stated firmly that she wanted only these words for her obituary: "I want to thank everyone who has helped me, been my friend and made my life worthwhile." We will miss her every day.
