Phyllis J. Barton

A Mass of Christian Burial for Phyllis J. Barton, 80, of Newark, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at The Church of St. Edward the Confessor, 785 Newark Granville Rd., Granville with Msgr. Paul P. Enke as celebrant. Burial will follow at Eden Cemetery.

Phyllis passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014 at her home. She was born in Newark to the late Earl S. and Dorothy (Lytle) Braid.

Phyllis was employed by Greeley Company and then retired after 34 years with State Farm Insurance, where she was an administrative assistant. An active member of St. Edwards', Phyllis was involved on many committees and served as an Eucharistic Minister. She enjoyed traveling, working in her yard, walking her little companion "Cookie" and spending time with family.

Surviving are her son, Mark J. Barton of Cape Coral, FL; daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Larry Dysart of Newark; grandchildren, Ami Barton, Lindsay (John) Jordan, Faith, Noah, Elizabeth, and Mikayla Dysart; great grandchildren, Ian Jordan and Jaiden Dysart; brother, Robert M. Braid of Westerville; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her sister, MaryAnn "Molly" Jones.
