Richard C. Brieck

A graveside service will be held for Richard C. Brieck, 90, formerly of Cleveland, at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville with Pastor Mark Pierce officiating.

Richard passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013, in the presence of his family, at Autumn at the Lake in Thornville. He was born July 15, 1922 in Greensburg, PA to the late William and Mary (Coughlin) Brieck.

A World War II veteran, Richard served in the Army Infantry as a Sergeant and Squad Leader in the European Theater.

Richard retired as a Purchasing Director from the Navy Finance Department in Cleveland in 1985. Richard was a lover of the great outdoors, enjoying walking and hiking. His greatest joy was time spent with his family.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Patricia (White) Brieck of Thornville; children and their spouses, Ann W. Brieck and Doug Debrick of Athens, OH, Richard C. and Tammie L. Brieck of Worthington, OH, Joan M. and David W. Houser of Granville, OH, and Michael B. and Eileen H. Brieck of Fairview Park, OH; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Alice Ann Boehm of Pittsburgh, PA.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by three brothers, John, William, and Eugene; and two sisters, Jane and Mary Louise.
