A memorial service celebrating the life of Richard E. “Pete” Felumlee, 86, of Granville, will be held Monday, March 16, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Centenary United Methodist Church, 102 E. Broadway, in Granville with Rev. Casey Wilson as celebrant. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 5 P.M. at McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect St., in Granville.
Pete died March 12, 2020 at his home surrounded by family. He was born in Newark, OH to the late Vern and Louise Felumlee.
A 1951 graduate of Granville High School, Pete was a talented, multi-sport athlete that was inducted into the Granville High School Hall of Fame in 1995. His passion for sports led him to coach little league baseball and kept him active with the Granville Athletic Boosters. He was a member of Centenary U.M. Church, Center Star Lodge #11, Tehran Grotto, and was an avid hunter. Pete will be remembered for his outgoing personality, never knowing a stranger, and his construction craftsmanship. His lasting legacy will be the many homes he built and remodeled in Granville.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Kathryn; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Lisa Felumlee; grandchildren, Rader, Ramen, Rylan, Nicole, Jackie, Kyle, and Keith; great grandchildren, Jacob, Brodie, and Trace; and many cousins.
In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his sons, Ron and Ross; daughter, Karen Ailes; brother, Donald; and sister, Joanne.
