Richard C. Wolverton

A graveside service for Richard C. Wolverton, 85, of Granville, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville with military honors provided by Licking County Veterans Alliance. A memorial gathering will follow at Kendal at Granville from 12 to 3 p.m.

Richard died April 3, 2010 at Kendal at Granville. He was born in Clarksburg, WV February 21, 1925 to the late Richard and Catherine (Cummings) Wolverton.

A retired machinist from North American Rockwell/Boeing, Richard was involved in many special projects including the B-1 Bomber and space shuttle. He also served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theatre. Richard enjoyed traveling with his wife of 56 years. They resided in Florida during many of the winters and enjoyed boating on the eastern coast.

Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Phyllis Wolverton of Bexley; daughter, Lynne Wolverton of Boston, MA; grandchildren, Brice and his wife, Malia, Wolverton of Lakewood, Clara and Tessa Wolverton of Mansfield, and Spencer Wolverton of Bexley; and sister, Mary C. Wolverton of Newark.

In addition to his wife, Doris B. (Bush) Wolverton, he is preceded in death by one sister, Betty Wolverton. Arrangements are in the care of MCPEEK-HOEKSTRA FUNERAL HOME in Granville. Online condolences may be expressed at www.mcpeekhoekstra.com.
