Robert Becher

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Robert B. Becher, 63, of Granville, at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at The Church of St. Edward the Confessor, 785 Newark Granville Rd., with Msgr. Paul P. Enke as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Newark. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 8 P.M. at the church where a Vigil Service will be held at 5 P.M.

Alongside his family, Robert, the son of Robert S. Becher and Betty L. Becher, passed away April 3, 2018 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus. He spent his days surrounded by his wife of 30 years, Christine Becher, children; Cory, Kelly and Chris Morrow, Jessie and her fiancé, Bobby Jacoby as well as his two sisters, Beverly and Charlie Carter and Barbara Miles. Robert was also fortunate enough to have been a part of two larger extended families that accompanied him and brought him much love and laughter throughout his days.

Robert was a dedicated family man, who will be remembered for his selflessness, strong morals, character and honesty. He will also be remembered for his time and loyalty to Gordon Food Service for over 20 years, his involvement in and passion for the Granville Blue Ace community and as a devout Catholic at St. Edward the Confessor.

Outside of serving his family and community, Robert found much joy in being an active sports enthusiast; rooting for his alma mater, THE Ohio State Buckeyes, the Columbus Blue Jackets and his hometown Cleveland teams. Additionally, Robert had an unwavering love for the outdoors. He spent many of his formative years backpacking across the country, finding God’s beauty in many of the National Parks.

Robert spent each day with Jimmy Valvano’s famous speech at heart. He laughed every day, spent time in thought and was moved to tears from his emotions, whether joy or heartache.
