Robert (Bob) Morris Parsley, age 85, of Granville, Ohio, husband of Ruth Ann (Bostic) Parsley, passed away on August 18, 2024, at Licking Memorial Hospital, Hospice of Central Ohio. Bob was born to Ida Irene (Spaulding) Parsley and Leland Morris Parsley in Holden, WV on November 8, 1938.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his son Bob Parsley, brother Bruce Parsley, brother-in-law Earle Hunter, nephew Mark Hunter, and niece Lori Bostic. In addition to his wife of 64 years, he is survived by his children Brian (Erin) Parsley, Lea Ann (Ryan) Parsley-Davenport, and Aimee (Edward ‘Ned’) Parsley-White; daughter-in-law Tara (Bob) Parsley; grandchildren Jack, Gracie, Teddy, Graham (Amber), Mason, Lindley, Nolan, Hudson; great-granddaughters Harper and Adalyn; sister Barbara Hunter, sister-in-law Linda Parsley, brother-in-law Micheal (Rosemary) Bostic, and nieces and nephews Heather (Bobby) Wills, Kelly (Kevin) Crist, Matthew (Janice) Bostic, Cristy Toney, and Leslee (John) Feaster.
Bob was a member of First Baptist Church of Newark for many years, and more recently attended Spring Hills Baptist Church in Granville. He was an avid supporter of his children’s and grandchildren’s athletic and other activities. He enjoyed family gatherings at the beach. He worked for Park National Bank for 34 years, retiring in 2004 as vice-president of accounting and finance. He held several degrees and certifications from West Virginia Tech, Xavier University, Capital University and various banking schools. He and Ruth Ann were owners of Granville Child Care Center and other childcare programs in the area, growing those businesses for 44 years until 2020 when they both officially retired.
A private family graveside service will be held. Donations may be made in his memory to Ohio’s Hospice of Central Ohio.
