Robert R. Needham

d. November 21, 2015

Robert R. Needham, 73, of Granville, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Zanesville Health and Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s and Lewy Body Disease. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Harry and Annette (Shelbaer) Needham. Bob grew up in Blawnox where he learned to be a loyal Penguins fan.

Bob studied civil engineering at the University of Michigan. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. During his engineering career he worked with such area companies as M.S. Consultants, Jobes Henderson, and Art Anderson.

As a young man, Bob enjoyed attending auctions, refinishing furniture, and playing bridge with the members of the Young Engineers Club in Virginia (of which he was a founding member). He was an easy going person with a gentle sense of humor. He will be remembered for his affable nature and the way he always strove to make other people’s lives easier.

Surviving are his wife, Meredith; daughter, Bethany; sister, Judith Schneider; and mother-in-law, Helen K. Park. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lester Needham.
