A memorial service celebrating the life of Robert M. Sandbrink, Jr., will be held at Noon on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Newark Central Christian Church, 587 Mt. Vernon Road, Newark with Rev. Jeff Gill as celebrant. Military honors will be rendered by the Licking County Veteran’s Alliance. The family will receive friends from 10:30 A.M. until the time of the service at the church.
A graduate of Granville High School, Bob passed away Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center, operated by Hospice of Central Ohio, in Newark. He was born in Newark in 1945 to the late Robert M. and Dorothy Sandbrink.
Bob served in Reconnaissance during Vietnam in the U.S. Air Force for seven and a half years. He was a patriotic and forthright man who was not afraid to give it to you straight. He enjoyed golfing, reading, hunting, woodworking and Jamboree in the Hills. Family and friends were most important to him and he will be remembered for his big heart and kindness to those around him.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Judy (Sawyer) Sandbrink; daughters, Kat Ferguson and Kim Sandbrink; grandchildren, Kourtney and Kaci Spurling, and Destiny Ferguson; great grandchildren, Kraven, Matthew, and Vega; brothers, Jeff and Joe (Lisa) Sandbrink; sisters, Dot Bachmann, Pat (Bill) Czepiel, and Jan Reid; and several nieces and nephews.
