Ronald E. Graham

Ronald E. Graham, 84, was born on Dec. 2, 1937, to Hayes and Oleta Graham in the family home in Granville, Ohio. He passed away, October 5, 2022, at Arlington Care Center in Newark.

After Ron graduated from high school in 1955, he entered the U.S. Air Force where he served for 10 years. Upon completion of his military service, Ron opened Ron’s Interiors on Mt. Vernon Road in Newark. He later managed Glick’s Furniture in Heath and retired from the furniture business in 2020.

In 1980, Ron married his wife, Susan. Ron and Susan blended their families; his daughters, Terri and Larry Galigher, Tina and John Lowery, Linda and Mitch Thomas, Lisa and Dan Orr; Susan’s sons, Michael and Jennifer Chronister, Marc Chronister, Matthew and Karen Chronister, and Paul, II and Mandy Sparks; 14 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Ron enjoyed singing with the Barbershop Chorus and an occasional game of golf. He was excellent in entertaining friends and relatives on the piano that he played by ear. One of his favorites was Sentimental Journey.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his brothers, John and David; and sister, Janet Harvot.

A memorial service celebrating Ron’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, October 14, 2022, in the Fireside Room, at Spring Hills Baptist Church, 1820 Newark Granville Rd., Granville with Rev. Tom Pound as celebrant. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Private interment will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery, Granville.
