Ronald G Ramsay

December 22, 1938 — February 10, 2011

Ronald Gibson Ramsay died from the complications of heart disease in his home in Granville on February 10, 2011. Ron was born in Powhatan Point, Ohio to the late Roland and Olga "Lil" Ramsay. The family moved to Granville when Ron was three.

A 1956 graduate of Granville High School, Ron also attended Denison University. After hotel management training, he worked in Washington D.C., for a number of years, as Hotel Sales Manager at the Fort Hayes Hotel, the Christopher Inn and Hilton on Olentangy River Road in Columbus. In later years, he owned and operated a metal fabrication business in Columbus.

Ron's passions were friends, food, and family. Being generous and quite involved with his many friends, he enjoyed cooking and sharing his soups and homemade wine with them. Although he lived in Columbus for many years, his heart was in Granville. Ron spent many weekends and nearly every holiday in Granville until moving there permanently in 2000.

Surviving are his brother, Roland Thomas "Tom" Ramsay of Pittsburgh; aunt, Emily Ramsay Stansbury of Granville; niece, Liz Ramsay Gehr of Edmond, OK and 12 first cousins in Ohio, Arizona, California, Louisiana, and Oregon.
