Ronald "Ron" D. Mack

Ronald “Ron” D. Mack, age 86 of Granville passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023 at SharonBrook Assisted Living surrounded by his loving family.  Ron was born June 30, 1937, and raised on his family farm in Glenford, Ohio to the late James Vernon and Grace (Claggett) Mack.

He was a 1955 graduate of Glenford High School, then attended Ohio University School of Engineering, graduating in 1959.  In 1958 Ron married Beatrice (Fulk) Mack in a double wedding ceremony with his sister and brother-in-law, Arlene (Mack) and Tom Hill.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Mack; sister Arlene Hill; brothers-in-law Tom Hill and Charles Fulk.

Ron is survived by his 4 children; Pam (Chuck) Hamm of Heath, Doug (Chris) Mack of Granville, Stu (Paula) Mack of Glenford, Julie (Clayton) Brooks of Newark; 7 grandchildren, Stephanie (Emily) Hamm, Madi Hamm, Shelby Hamm, Mackenzie Brown, Courtney (Fischer Nance) Brooks, Chance Brooks, Gracie Mack; 3 great-grandchildren, Kinley and Karley Brown, Peyton Hamm.

Ron worked for over 40 years as an Engineer at Western Electric.  He volunteered his service at the Granville Fire Department as a Fire Fighter, EMT/Paramedic for 43 years and also served as Fire Chief.

Ron’s hobbies included woodworking and mowing.  He was known as “Mr. Fix It” to anyone in the community. What he treasured most was spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.

A graveside service will be held 2:30 pm Monday, November 20, 2023, at Maple Grove Cemetery followed by a celebration of life gathering from 4-7 pm Monday at Bryn Du Mansion 537 Jones Road NE, Granville, Ohio 43023.

The family would like to thank the staff at Randall Residence and SharonBrooke Inn for the care Ron was given.
