Ruth D. Sissea

A funeral service celebrating the life of Ruth D. Sissea, 89, of Granville will be held at 4:00 P.M. Sunday, July 5, 2015 at McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect St., Granville with the Rev. Janice Hilkerbaumer as celebrant. A private graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville. The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until the time of service on Sunday.

Ruth passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark. She was born in 1925 in Eagle, Nebraska to the late David and Florence (Lyons) Stall.

A retired analyst with 38 years of service, Ruth worked at both Newark and Wright Patterson Air Force Bases. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Granville, an avid reader, and excellent cook. She met the love her life and husband of 50 years, George Sissea, while dancing to the music of Jerry Vale. She and George were inseparable and enjoyed golfing, traveling, playing cards, and retirement in Florida. Ruth will be remembered as a loving, caring, and giving wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her beloved husband, Ruth is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Ed and Laura Lewis of Granville, George and Beth Sissea, and John and Kris Sissea both of Newark; grandchildren, Jamie, Andrew, Matthew, and Michael Lewis and Kylie Sissea.

Ruth was preceded in death by her brother, Wendell Stall and sister, Mary Petrick.
