A funeral service celebrating the life of Sally I. Simpson Johnson, 76, of Granville, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Centenary United Methodist Church, 102 E. Broadway, Granville with Rev. Stephen J. Cramer as celebrant. Burial will follow at Welsh Hills Cemetery in Granville.

Sally passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Chestnut House in Newark. She was born in Newark to the late Charles N. and Leatha K.(Foster) Mallow.

A 1956 graduate of Granville High School, Sally was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. She enjoyed golfing and spending time in Florida. An ornery ol’gal who never met a stranger, Sally loved socializing and having fun. A passionate O.S.U. fan, Sally enjoyed listening to the band and club events. Additionally, she had a keen sense of style and a flair for decorating.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Mike Workman of Granville, stepdaughter Dianne Snelling of Heath, stepson Paul Robert “Doby” (Dianna) Simpson of Lake Forest, Ill, daughter-in-law, Julie Simpson;  grandchildren, Kinsea, Haley, Gabby, Heidi, Brad, Kyle, Kelly, and,  Great grandchildren: Jacob, Drea, Jake, Brady, and Colby.

In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by her husband Paul K. “Pete” Simpson who died in 1996, her second husband, Bill Johnson who died in 2014, and beloved son, Matthew P. Simpson who died in 2010.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 6, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at McPeek- Hoekstra Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect St., Granville. Online condolences may be expressed at ww.mcpeekhoekstra.com.
