Sidney G Dunbar

Sidney Gray Dunbar was born in 1933 and passed away July 28, 2021.

Sidney was born in Stamford, Connecticut to Hilda Harter and Erving Walker Dunbar.

Sidney grew up in White Plains, New York. He graduated from Union College in Schenectady, New York with a degree in Chemistry in 1955. He was a member of Theta Delta Chi fraternity, the Rifle team and ROTC.

He married his wife Louise on June 18, 1955.

Sidney was a First Lieutenant in the Air Force where he flew fighter jets.

Sidney worked as a Senior Engineer for Owens Corning Fiberglas where he received several patents for inventions. During his career they lived in Huntingdon, Pa and Granville, Ohio.

He retired in 1989 and they became snowbirds; enjoying winters in Naples, Fl.

During later years they resided in Westerville, Ohio.

Sidney is survived by his wife and three children: Russell (Christine)Dunbar, Cheryl (late George)Abbott, Jill Reid and a host of relatives. He is interred at Maple Grove Cemetery.
