Stanley Jarosz

A graveside service will be held for Stanley R. Jarosz, 71, of Akron, at 1:00 P.M. June 30, 2012 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville with Rev. Stephen H. Applegate officiating. Following there will be a gathering at the College Town House, 334 East Broadway, Granville.

Stan died October 17, 2011 in Akron. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY to the late Leo and Wanda (Waclawek) Jarosz.

An avid sports fan, Stan coached little league baseball and basketball. More recently he loved playing golf and, from the couch, "coaching" college and professional sports on television. He got a lot of pleasure out of teaching and fishing with grandchildren and friends. He also enjoyed the fulfillment of co-founding and running a successful steel fabrication business. Fond memories resulted from family gatherings which often included Stan playing his guitar for a sing along with aunts, uncles, and cousins from the Thomas family in Granville. This made the trips to Granville feel like coming home.

Surviving are his wife Jeanie Fisher Jarosz of Rootstown, OH; sons, Kenneth (Jo) Jarosz of Akron, OH, Dale (Laura) Jarosz of Dunedin, FL, Gary (Paula) Jarosz of Ravenna, OH; daughter, Sheryl Stroud (David) Bryant of Fredericksburg, VA; brother, Leo (Betsy) Jarosz of Youngstown, NY; brother-in-law, Don Lapoint of Roseville, CA; sister-in-law, Phyllis Fisher Sherman of Canandaigua, NY; 11 greatly loved grandchildren; 11 nieces and nephews and their families; cousins by marriage, Susan Owen Hill, Rod Smith both of Newark, OH, David Evans of Boise, ID, and Sharon Ross of Westerville, OH.

Stan's death was followed by the death of his sister, Barbara Lapoint, in February 2012. In addition to his parents, Stan was preceded in death by his loving father and mother-in-law, Hamilton and Margaret Thomas Fisher, originally from Granville.
