Stephen C. Mintos, 89, passed away on September 28, 2016.  Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. Steve was  retired from his career as a commercial lines underwriter with the McElroy-Minister Company in Columbus.  Steve was a graduate of Bay High School in Bay Village, Ohio and of Bowling Green State University.  He was an avid golfer and a life-long fan of his beloved Cleveland Browns and Indians.

A veteran of World War II, he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army.

Steve was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth (Chandler) Mintos, as well as brothers, Jack and William Humphrey. He is survived by sister, Anne Klein of Newark, Ohio, brother, Richard Humphrey of Austin, Texas, sister, Sandra Cohen, of Ft. Pierce, Florida; children Marilyn Turner of Asheville, North Carolina, Stephen (Sharon) Mintos of Granville, Ohio, Patricia (Jerry) Glandorf of Sharps Chapel, Tennessee; grandchildren Noah (Linda) Hanawalt and Tara Hanawalt Neergaard, Anthony, Michael (Ashley), Alexander, and Sam Mintos, Joseph Glandorf; and great-grandchild, Lucy Mintos.

Family and friends will share memories and a celebration of Steve’s life at a gathering at York Golf Club, 7459 N. High Street, Columbus, Ohio on Thursday October 6, 2016 from 3:30pm to 6:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests consideration of contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association of Central Ohio, 1379 Dublin Road, Columbus, Ohio.
