Susan G. Larimer died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on July 17, 2015. She was born in Harrisburg, PA to Thomas G. and Eva L. Gardner January 23, 1944.

Her childhood was spent in Western New York where she attended Salamanca High School.  Susan attended Syracuse University, graduated from Jamestown Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing, and obtained a Master of Science in Nursing as a Clinical Nurse Specialist from SUNY Upstate Medical Center Syracuse, NY.  She began her nursing career as a candy striper at Salamanca Hospital and through the years worked in Olean, NY, Charlotte, NC, Rock Hill, SC and Baton Rouge, LA.  Some of her nursing opportunities involved teaching Lamaze classes to expectant parents and specializing in wound and palliative care.

Sue was an avid reader, quilter, Master Gardener, world traveler, and lover of rescue horses and dogs.  She was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Granville, Ohio where she was chair of the Altar Guild and past member of the Vestry.

Survivors include her husband Alan M. Larimer, daughters Margot Neverett (husband Richard),  Francine Brokaw and Laura Strauss; grandchildren Jared and Lucas Brokaw, Samantha and Scott Strauss; sisters Marcia Kazmierski, Ann Gardner, Laura Gardner, Janet (Louis) Silvano and brother Thomas A. Gardner and 9 nieces and nephews.

A memorial service celebrating Susan’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 107 E. Broadway, Granville with Rev. Dr. Stephen H. Applegate as celebrant.
