Sylvia Ann Bast

A funeral service celebrating the life of Sylvia Ann Bast, 78, of Alexandria, will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Centenary United Methodist Church, 102 E. Broadway, Granville with Rev. Casey Wilson as Celebrant. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church.

A procurement instructor with the Department of Defense, Sylvia passed away May 18, 2017 at The James in Columbus, Ohio. She was born in Columbus to the late Robert D. and Florence E. (Markham) Hunt and was a graduate of Ohio Dominican University.

A fervent reader and gardener, Sylvia was a member of the Granville Garden Club Centenary United Methodist Church, a 48 year member and Past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile where she served as Queen, and the Ladies Oriental Shrine.

Surviving are her sons and daughter-in-law, Johann and Maria Bast and Eric Bast and Terry Gibson; brothers, Herbert and Robert Hunt; sisters, Mary Ruckman and Joan Strand; grandchildren, Ingrid McLane, Johann Bast, and Evaluna Bast; and one great grandchild, Seth Nathan McLane.
