Terry Allen Blackstone

Terry Allen Blackstone, age 76 of Granville passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 29, 2023, with his wife by his side.  He was born September 30, 1947, in Newark, Ohio to the late Ralph F. and Bernice (Burgoon) Blackstone.

Terry was a 1967 graduate of Granville High School and earned his machinist degree from Heath Vocational School.  He was drafted into the U.S. Army shortly after high school.  Terry served honorably in Vietnam where he was injured in the line of duty, earning him two Purple Hearts.

Upon returning home he became the owner / operator of his own small engine repair business, Blackstone’s Sales and Service, where at the end of any day you could find Terry and his friends solving the world’s problems.

He belonged to Maennerchor, Sertoma, Newark VFW, Newark Moose, DVA and PVA.  Terry enjoyed fishing and shooting.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by sister, Roberta Stevens.

Terry is survived by his loving wife, Alicia “Lisa” Blackstone whom he married on June 24, 1989; children, Darby Clint (Hazel) Blackstone, Becky Baker (Chris) Gause, grandchildren, Kayla Blackstone, John Craggs, Gabby Gause; special nephew, Allen Stevens.

Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 PM Monday, December 4, 2023, at McPeek Hoekstra Hoskinson Funeral Home 133 S. Prospect St, Granville, Ohio 43023.

A memorial service will begin 1:00 PM Friday December 8, 2023, where the family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services from NOON -1:00 PM Friday.  Inurnment immediately following at Maple Grove Cemetery.
