A funeral service celebrating the life of Theodore "Ted" Koetz, 86, of Hilliard, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 15, 2011 at McPeek Hoekstra Funeral Home, 133 S. Prospect St., Granville with Pastor Fenton McDonald as celebrant. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville. A WWII Air Force veteran, Ted died December 11, 2011 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. He was born March 8, 1925 in Columbus to the late George and Lillian (Wishon) Koetz. An Ohio State University graduate and Buckeye fan, Ted worked as Deputy Tax Commissioner for the State of Ohio prior to co-founding, American Tax Associates. He was an avid reader and greatly enjoyed golfing and his winters that were spent in Ft. Myers, Florida. He will be remembered as a loving and caring father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who had the ability to say the right things and was always impeccably dressed. Surviving are his daughters and sons-in-law; Linda and Frank McQuaid of Pataskala, Kathy and Kent Steinmetz of Rockbridge, and Rita Fravel of Blacklick; grandchildren, Jennifer Gonzalez, Stephanie Reffitt, Jeffrey Steinmetz, Angela Fravel, and Matthew Steinmetz; and numerous great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife Lucille E. (Berger) Koetz, Ted was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Irwin; one brother, Robert; and one sister, Louise.
