Valentina Segna Kauahi

Valentina Segna Kauahi, 53, of Alexandria, Ohio, went to be with the Lord, September 11, 2013, surrounded by her loving family after fighting a two year battle with cancer.

Val was born October 1, 1959 to Mafalda "Muffie" (Roiatti) and the late, Modesto Segna.

She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Damien Kauahi; daughter, Kiana; sons, Kalei, Keenan, and Kylor. Also surviving Val are her sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Lenny Jones of Granville, Ohio; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Debbie Segna of Pickerington, Ohio; father-in-law and wife, Frederick II and Liz Kauahi; mother-in-law, Joan Kauahi; sister-in-law, Ramona Kauahi, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Delphine and Wes Saniatan; brother-in-law, Frederick Kauahi III; and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by brother-in-law, Derek Kauahi.

Val was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. She undoubtedly touched the lives of those around her. She was a 1978 graduate of Northland High School and former employee of the State of Ohio. Val was also a member of the Church of Saint Edward the Confessor and volunteered on the bereavement committee.

The family will receive friends, Monday, September 16, 2013, at the Church of Saint Edward the Confessor, 785 Newark-Granville Road, Granville, Ohio 43023 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where a Vigil Service will be held at 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at the church at 10:00 a.m. with Msgr. Paul P. Enke as celebrant. Burial will follow to St. Joseph Cemetery in Johnstown, Ohio.
