Virginia R. Williams

A graveside service for Virginia R. "Gintsy" Williams, 80, of Newark, formerly of Granville, will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Granville with Rev. Thom Lamb officiating.

Gintsy passed away Saturday at Broadview Health Center in Columbus.  She was born February 10, 1928, in Granville, to the late Guy and Elizabeth (Futerer) Rodes.

Gintsy was a 1946 graduate of Granville High School and later attended Miami University where she studied Journalism.  For several years, she owned and operated Ye Yarn Shop in Granville.   She was a member and former deacon of the First Presbyterian Church of Granville and a member of the Village Guild.  Her greatest joys were her family, knitting, and reading.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Ted R. and Kay Williams of Thornville; daughter Nancy W. Campolo of Newark;    grandchildren Guy Williams and his wife, Tara, of Newark, Amy Steil and her husband, Chris, of New Albany, Christina and Ashley Campolo both of Newark; brothers-in-laws and their wives Bernard R. and Hilah Williams of Granville, and Tom L. and Ruth Williams of Westerville; sister-in-law and her husband, Suzie and Neal  Hartfield of Granville; many cousins, nieces, and nephews; and special, life-long friend, Irene Cunard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Charles Richard Williams, who died May 23, 1996, and son-in law, Frank G. Campolo.
