Wayne R. Ziegler

Wayne R. Ziegler, 87, of Pennington, NJ, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2025, at Altercare Thornville, Ohio. Born March 1, 1937, in Berks County, Pennsylvania, and residing in Macungie, PA, Wayne lived a life filled with love and provided much service and dedication to everything he did.

A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Wayne built a 38-year career playing guitar, working at Mack trucks to working with IBM and Kodak where he earned awards for his excellence in office repair and customer service. He enjoyed solving puzzles and Sudoku became his passion. He also enjoyed restoring clocks, playing guitar and singing songs, and spending time near the ocean with his family. Above all, he treasured his family and friends.

Wayne was a proud husband to his wife, the late Helen L. (Zangerle) Ziegler.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Joan A. Ziegler and Todd J. Plathe; his son, Kevin Ziegler; and his grandchildren: Tayler R. Boitnott (Stefen), Joshua A. Ziegler, and Ryan C. Ziegler. He is also survived by his brothers, Bobbie (Fern) and Barry Fritz; sisters, Diane (Randy) Rothrock and Virginia “Ginny” (Paul) Gollie; sister-in-law, Joan Fritz; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his beloved wife, Helen, he was preceded in death by his mother, Marguerite (Bortz) Fritz, birth father Philip Ziegler, and step-father Harry L. Fritz; and brothers, Martin, Dale, Stanley, and Lester Fritz.

A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Sunset Memorial Park in Pennsylvania.
