William A. Hocker

William A. Hocker, 93, formerly of Galion, died on October 7, 2010 in Winter Haven, Florida where he had resided for more than 30 years. Mr. Hocker retired as a conductor for the New York Central and Penn Central railroads after 37 years. He was a member of the American Legion and a 32nd degree Mason. He attended Ohio University. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served In North Africa and Italy during World War II.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty J. Hocker; daughter, Kathleen (Greg) Swary, Columbus; son, David Hocker, Houston; and sister, D. Carol Hoekstra, Newark; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Predeceased by parents, D. Carl and Laura Durtschi Hocker, and brothers, Robert L. Hocker, and Allen H. Hocker.
